Inclusive Fest Report


The need to embrace Life in its entirety and face adversities with Smiles and hope in our hearts. Inspired by this, D.O.R.A.I Foundation initiated "Inclusive Fest" an Endeavor that salutes the attributes of Oneness and Acceptance.

D.O.R.A.I Foundation celebrated their 4th Edition of Inclusive Fest on the 7th of February 2020 at ITM Kharghar, Navi Mumbai by bringing in Individuals from all walks of Life together and celebrating Life.

Inclusive Fest is a Unique Festival of Life which brings in Individuals from different sectors. An opportunity for Creative Expression by Persons with Disabilities, Mental Health issues, Transgender Community, Student Population, Professionals, Artists and the rest of the Population to showcase their talents and celebrate life.

A Platform that helps create Awareness, Sensitization, and Bonding. The Fest gave all a unique opportunity to connect and bond with one another.

There were 14 participants from Brahmanand Sansthan,Belapur, 22 participants from MBA Foundation & Self Esteem Foundation For Disabled GODS' ABODE, 13 participants from Majiwadi, Thane and Students from ITM Kharghar. The event started with a patriotic group dance by the special need’s kids followed by solo & group dances, solo & group singing, beat boxing and rap songs.

The event concluded with an Inclusive Ramp Walk where individuals from the mainstream and the participants most of them differently abled walked together.

Exhibition of Products by Single Mothers and Adults with Special Needs were kept near the main gate.

The fest also saw Dr Lakshmi Mohan being honoured with the "EXAMPLAR Award". She was felicitated for being a veteran in the field of Education with Expertise in teaching, training and spearheading Youth Empowerment Programs through the Social Connect Internship Program. Also, for relentlessly pursuing her passion to bring about a Revolution amongst the Youth through various Initiatives for the betterment of the younger generation

The event was organised by Dr Sumithra Prasad General Secretary, D.O.R.A.I Foundation and the special guest was Harish Iyer an Indian equal rights activist.

Rotary Club of Midtown and BPCL partnered with us and sponsored bags and transportation for the participants from three locations i.e Thane, Airoli & Belapur.
